CONCEPT
BRIEF
An workshop of
five strangers (like an MTV reality show, except that we got along famously)
produced a concept brief for an exhibit on the internment of the Japanese
during WWII. Full PDF here. (13.5mb) |

CME Enterprises
CME Enterprises offers continuing education and training for medical professionals. A recent educational conference was also a chance to celebrate a ten year anniversary. A clean, playful invite packaged in a vellum envelope was just the right touch to pique interest and still stay true to the client's brand. |

GLOBAL
TELECOM & TECHNOLOGY
Two players in the European enterprise communications market merged. A London branding agency took a stab at a new identity and wordmark. It was thought to be too consumer. Enter our team. I created a still contemporary identity that referenced the past while pointing (literally) to the future. Clean, professional, and loved by the client. |

EXTEND
CREATIONS
Hair extensions are everywhere. Once the exclusive splurge of the drag queens and pop stars —now, hair extensions are as common on the red carpet as at the prom. Extend Creations is the exclusive U.S. distributor of the Extend system, but it didn't have a visual identity that was at all style conscious. I developed the new logo and identity system. |

AT&T
At the end of a week of the same stock searches we had nothing. (Not surprisingly.) I kinda pushed the brainstorming into high gear. It was a little too edgy for the client. But they were willing to keep us on. Round-two was more staid. I took a support role and used my mad photoshop skillz to do all manner of retouching — made a grumpy model happy, all of them younger and changed an Army uniform into an Air Force. |

ETHERNETWORKS
The client went with a colleague’s work. I was pretty happy with what I came up with, though, so here it be. Later, another late night of powerpoint work, got me an open invitation for a cruise on the client’s yacht and dinner for two. So all is foregiven. |

IMMIGRATION
EQUALITY
Ever thought about the fact that same-sex couples can't sponsor their partners for purposes of immigration? And that some guy can order a bride from Russia and no one bats an eye? Immigration Equality works to end this discrimination. I just have tried to make sure they look good while doing it. From bilingual brochures and invites to fundraisers to even a float. (Lady Liberty never looked better than in pink.) All pro bono, of course. |

BRAIN FOOD
Brain Food takes DC high school students and makes them into foodies. (On the sly of course, the kids just think they are having fun. And learning their way around the kitchen.) A fundraiser at a DC home store needed a poster, point-of-sale signage and postcards. I did all that. (And came up with the line, "We'll go halvies.") |

PERSONAL ART PROMO
I mentioned I'm an artist, no? Sound art, installation, video hijinx? Well anyway, here's what you missed. So far. |

WOMEN
OF COLOR FILM FESTIVAL
The festival needed a last minute art director to design a poster and work with their printer. I came in when they were desperate for any help and rocked the house. I think. |

STUDENT AFFAIRS
Being an resident advisor and orientation leader means being a parent to several hundred kids. And designing an experience. And ways to promote it. See that here. Programming your own film series means designing your own posters. And showing Valley of the Dolls to bewildered freshmen. |

BENTO:
STORY ART BOX
Kent Williams makes illustrations that are both creepy and beautiful. He asked me to art direct a magazine for student illustrators that was published by Allen Spiegel Fine Arts. It turned out pretty well. Plus, I got Julie Newmar's autograph at OaklandCon. |

ORRICK
Orrick is bigger than huge. They have offices all over the world. And hand a hand in every aspect of the industrialization of the San Francisco peninusula. All I did was put to gether a newsletter and an HR brochure. |

THE
RECORDER
Did you know that Bay Area has more lawyers per capita than any other region in the country? Unfortunately, I do. I worked for one of two daily newspapers. Just a lowly production designer, I art directed the redesign when our format changed and the lead the effort to codify the production process. |

FINANCIAL
My first start-up environment. We doubled in size in the two years I was there. We went from the quirky little data company that no one had ever heard of to being a data powerhouse. I grew from production to editorial to marketing and landed in creative. The creative team led the way to a more design centered approach. Plus we picked the colors for the new building. (Now the old building.) |
